Energy transferred
Charge moved (C) x Voltage (V) (QEV)
Voltage
Current (A) X Resistance (Ohm) (CVR)
What causes electrical transfer of energy?
Charge flowing because it works against resistance
Is energy transferred completely useful?
No, some is but some is dissipated to thermal sources or surroundings
What happens to resistors when current flows through them?
It heats up. More ions will vibrate making it harder for electrons to get through a resistor, making current decrease.
What happens when resistor gets too hot?
No current will be able to flow
UNLESS resistance of a thermistor decreases with an increase in temp
