1. Connect circuit
2. Change output voltage to alter the current and voltage across the component
3. Take readings to see how current varies when voltage is changed
4. Plot current against voltage to get an IV graph
5. Calculate resistance
6. Do not overheat circuit and if it gets warm, cool it for a bit
