They let out ash, gas and hot magma

Geothermal activity are underground streams and rivers boiling hot converted into electricity

Magma builds up pressure, making lava spill out the top. The longer the pressure, the bigger the eruption.

Active-Exploding every so often
Dormant-Not active for a while but still able to erupt
