Q

What are two environmental benefits of living near a volcano?

A

Lava and materials from pyroclastic flow make the soil around rich in minerals therefore they have good crops to sell

Geothermal energy can be taken from the volcano, by using the steam to drive turbines it produces electricity which helps the environment because you aren’t using fossil fuels

Q

What are two economical benefits to living near a volcano?

A

Volcanoes attract millions of visitors from around the world every year which creates jobs as tour guides

They contain some of the most mineral rich soils which produces healthy crops and rich harvests which helps the place to make money

Q

What are two social disadvantages to living near a volcano?

A

When the volcano erupts there is a massive decrease in the amount of people living on that area of land because the volcano has killed many people

The ash and gases will pollute the water which means there will be a shortage of drinking water

Q

What are two economical disadvantages of living near a volcano?

A

The ash and gases in the air will delay air travel therefore there will be no tourists so businesses my have to close due to the lack of money coming in

Once the volcano erupts gases will come out and go into all near by lakes, rivers and reservoir which will kill all fish and sea life this means that there will be no fish to sell to other places meaning there will be and economic downturn

Q

What are two environmental disadvantages of living near a volcano?

A

The lava will destroy priceless forests which is bad for the environment as trees breath in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen

The ash and gases go into near by sea which then gets polluted so when the water evaporates and forms clouds they will be polluted therefore when it rains it will form acid rain
