1. Press the voicemail button which has an icon of a cassette tape on it
2. Enter your voicemail password at the prompt
   For first-time users, enter 654321

Dial your 10 digit direct access voicemail number
Dial *
Enter your voicemail password

Under what circumstance might your mailbox become security locked?

How does one reset the lock on the mailbox?

Answer 2

If you login unsuccessfully three times then your mailbox will become security locked.

Contact your regional IT service desk (7285) to reset the lock on the mailbox

What are the requirements that one needs to keep in mind when choosing a password to use for Voicemail?

Answer 3

The password cannot be the same as the mailbox number
Sequential characters cannot be used (12345)
Characters cannot be repeated (11111), (112233)
Also previous passwords cannot be reused
Passwords must be changed at regular intervals

What will happen to the old voicemail Octel?
How can one be sure to not lose any voicemail messages on the old system?
When will phone extensions be migrated?

Your current voicemail will not migrate or transfer over to the new voicemail
If you have archived voicemail messages in Octel, they will not migrate or transfer over to the new voicemail system
Therefore you should listen to all your voicemails prior to 5 PM on the Friday of your migration weekend
Also remember that all phone extensions will be migrated beginning at 5 PM on the Friday of your migration weekend
