A

Press the hold button, which looks like a pause button on a CD player. Be careful not to confuse it with the directory button which looks similar but is an open book icon.

Enter the transfer recipient’s number
When the phone starts ringing press the transfer button again
And then hang up

If on hook transfer is enabled then you can just hang up. (This is not clear whether on hook transfer is enabled)

How do you switch between two calls prior to completing the transfer?

A

Press the transfer key or the transfer SoftKey
Dial the transfer recipients number
Wait for them to pick up and then ask if they would like to talk to so and so
If the answer is yes, then press the transfer button or SoftKey again to transfer the call.
If the answer is no, Press the cancel SoftKey to hang up on the intended recipient. Now the outside caller Will be on hold. Press the resume SoftKey to talk to the outside caller again. This is also useful if the intended recipient is not available right now.

To switch between the two calls before completing the transfer, press the swap SoftKey

Extension mobility allows you to log into any phone using your unique business extension so that the phone will function as if it was your own desk phone. This is useful for alternative workspaces where many different people share the same phones. To use extension mobility press the extension mobility programmable line button in the upper right-hand corner of the LCD display screen.
Next login with your user ID (RUD ID)
Use the navigation pad to scroll down to the pin field and enter your four digit telephone extension number
Press the submit SoftKey and the phone will register as your own desk phone!

A

The common problem when using speakerphone is that when one wants to transition to the handset one accidentally pushes the speaker phone button before lifting the handset. This will disconnect the call! It is necessary to lift the handset only while on speakerphone

If you accidentally hang up you can use the redial SoftKey

Press the search SoftKey
Use the navigation pad to scroll through the list of names
(If you need to go back to edit the search criteria again press the DOTS SoftKey and then the SEARCH SoftKey )
Once the correct name is selected press the dial SoftKey to call

How is The call parking feature useful?

A

Unlike putting a call on hold, where the call stays on your phone, parking a call allows you to put the call on hold “remotely” and pick up from another phone in the building. This is useful if you need to continue a conversation in a different room.

The screen will display a 10 digit Park number
Make a note of this number on paper
Now you can hang up
Go to another phone where you would like to pick up the call from and dial the 10 digit number (Last five digits?)
This will retrieve the call
You have two minutes (120 seconds) to get to the phone where you want to retrieve the call before the call will simply ring back at the original phone.

What are softkeys and how do you use them?

A

There are four Soft keys underneath the LCD display screen. SoftKey labels are displayed above each SoftKey on the LCD display screen. The SoftKey labels change dynamically depending on the context and menus that one is using at any given time. They are not touch screen buttons (one does not touch the screen to activate them). An important thing to remember about using the softkeys is that if you’re looking for a particular feature and you do not see it in the first three softkeys, it is likely that you need to press the dots SoftKey which is the fourth SoftKey to reveal more features. You can keep pressing the fourth SoftKey over and over until you reveal all of the features that are hidden beneath it
