Q

What is an alerting service?

A

16
Q

Broadcast =?

A

Transmission of information relating to air navigation that is not addressed to a specific station or stations.

17
Q

Clearance limit=?

A

The point to which an aircraft is granted an air traffic control clearance.

18
Q

What means expected approach time?

A

The time at which ATC expects that an arriving aircraft, following a delay, will leave the holding fix to complete its approach for landing.

19
Q

When do I get an expected approach time?

A

Delay => Expected time aircraft can leave holding fix to complete approach

20
Q

What is a maneuvering area?

A

Part of aerodrome to be used for TO, LDG’s and taxiing. => APRON is excluded

21
Q

Radar approach =?

A

Approach in which the final approach phase is executed under the direction of a radar controller.

22
Q

What is SELCAL?

A

Selective calling => System which permits a selevtive calling of individual aircraft over radiotelephone channels linking a ground station with the aircraft.

23
Q

What is a visual approach?

A

Approach by an IFR flight when either part of the instrument approach procedure is not completed an the approach is executed in visual reference to terrain.

24
Q

EAT=?

A

Expected approach time?

25
Q

RNAV=?

A

Area Navigation

26
Q

TMA=?

A

Terminal control area

27
Q

VASIS =?

32
Q

What are the functions of ATC?

A
  • Preventing collisions between aircraft
  • Preventing collisions between aircraft and obstructions
  • Expediting and mantaining flow of air traffic
33
Q

What measn ATC?

A

Air Traffic Control Service

34
Q

What is the difference between “Approach” and “Arrival”?
