General Flashcards
What is a standard rate turn?
Turn: 3°/Sec => 360° in 2 minutes
How do we calculate the angle for a standard rate turn (ROT)?
(TAS/10)+7
If we have to identify the crosswind component => Which reference value do we take? HDG, N?
HDG
LPV = ?
Lateral Performance with Vertical Guidance
What is the difference between DA/DH und MDA/MDH?
- DA/DH is used for precision approaches
- MDA/MDH is used for non-precision approaches
What is the difference between LNAV/VNAV and LPV?
LPV => very accurate, angular, lowest MDH
LNAV => Only lateral GPS-Navigation, altitude according charts
LNAV/VNAV => Vertical via barometer (SBAS possible)
RNAV = ?
Which ICAO manual covers PBN?
ICAO manual 9613
If there is a DME distance on a chart (e.g. Bern SID => 1.6) there is a NM buffer.
0.8 NM
What means LPV and on what is is based
Localizer performance with vertical guidance, based in SBAS.
What types of CAT-APCH exist and what is the difference?
CAT III:
What means LP?
Lateral SBAS
What is SBAS?
A satellite-based augmentation system (SBAS) is a system that supports wide-area or regional augmentation through the use of additional satellite-broadcast messages. Such systems are commonly composed of multiple ground stations, located at accurately-surveyed points. The ground stations take measurements of one or more of the GNSS satellites, the satellite signals, or other environmental factors which may impact the signal received by the users. Using these measurements, information messages are created and sent to one or more satellites for broadcast to the end users. SBAS is sometimes synonymous with WADGPS, wide-area DGPS.[1]

Advanced RNAV?
z.B. A-RNAV 0.3 => RNAV 1,5 etc. können alle verwendet werden.
What means RF?
Radial to fix (z.B. Halbkreis/Kreis im Anflug)
