What is Atrophy?
Loss of muscle tissue.
What is Hypertrophy?
Growth of muscle tissue. Train and eat more.
What is Concentric?
When a muscle shortens during a contraction.
What is Eccentric?
When a muscle lengthens during a contraction.
What is Muscular Endurance?
The ability to contract muscle many times in a row without tiring. –Performing high repetition sets (15+
reps) Example is bicep curls with low weight.
What is Muscular Strength?
The amount of force a muscle can produce.
– Lifting heavy weights for low
repetition sets.
▪ 1RMs, 3RMs, etc.
What is Muscular Power?
The ability to produce maximal force quickly.
–Cleans, snatches, jumping, etc.
What is One Rep Maximum?
The heaviest weight a person can lift for one complete movement of an
exercise.
What is Time Under Tension?
How long a muscle is under strain during a repetition.
What is Warm Up?
Preparation for physical exertion
