Market Area

Threshold
The size of population necessary for any particular service to exist and remain profitable (ex: the minimum number of fans needed to support a team)
Range
The distance people travel to obtain specific goods/services (ex: the distance a fan is willing to travel to see a game)

the world’s largest cities; have over 10 million people; influence regionally or worldwide

A city with a population over 20 million
Megalopolis
A chain of connected cities (Ex: the Bos-Wash Corridor, connecting Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington D.C.)
