Government
The body with the power to make decisions for a society
Executive Branch
The part of the government responsible for putting laws into action.
Legislative Branch
The part of the government that makes the laws.
Judicial Branch
Part of the government that interprets and applies the law by making legal judgments.
Constitution
A special set of laws that establish a framework of governance.
Constituent
Someone who lives in a riding and is represented by an elected official form that riding.
Caucus
A conference of members of a legislative body who belong to a particular party
Popular Vote
The total votes cast in an election. as different from the total seats won in an election.
Accountable
Answerable to someone for your actions; observable, transparent.
Civil Service
People who serve Canadians as employees of the government.
Bias
An opinion based on unchallenged opinions.
Senate
A bill goes to the senate, and they debate and vote on it. The Senate is in charge of looking out for the minority groups.
