Amending Formula
A specified process or procedure by which a constitution may be amended.
Bill
An amount of money owed for goods supplied or services rendered, set out in a printed or written statement of charges.
Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms
The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is one part of the Canadian Constitution. The Constitution is a set of laws containing the basic rules about how our country operates. For example, it contains the powers of the federal government and those of the provincial governments in Canada.
Civil Liberties
The state of being subject only to laws established for the good of the community, especially with regard to freedom of action and speech.
Executive Branch
Executive branch definition. The branch of federal and state government that is broadly responsible for implementing, supporting, and enforcing the laws made by the legislative branch and interpreted by the judicial branch.

Legislative Branch

Whenever you read about congresspeople in the Senate or House debating a law, you’re reading about the legislative branch: the branch of the government that writes, debates, and passes laws. Making laws can be called legislating.

‘Lobbying’ (also ‘lobby’) is a form of advocacy with the intention of influencing decisions made by the government by individuals or more usually by lobby groups; it includes all attempts to influence legislators and officials, whether by other legislators, constituents, or organized groups.
