Antecedent
An earlier clause, phrase, or word to which a pronoun, noun, or another word refers.
Anaphora
Repetition of a word or words at the beginning of two clauses. (Only exists in the same sentence)
Kairos
A time when the conditions are right for the accomplishment of a crucial action. (Time and Place -> All encompassing)
Ethos
Character (To demonstrate that they are credible and trustworthy)
Epistrophe
The repetition of the same word or words at the end of successive phrases, clauses, or sentences.
Exigence
An urgent need or demand (speaking/response)
Scheme
Figures of speech that deal with word order, syntax, letters, and sounds, rather than the meaning of words. Would include parallelism, antithesis, antimetabole, chiasmus, ellipses, asyndeton, and epistrophe.
Chiasmus
A crossing parallelism, where the second part of a grammatical construction is balanced or paralleled by the first part, only in reverse order. (A to B -> B to A, N to V -> V to N)
Pathos
An appeal to emotions, values, desires, and hopes
Logos
Reason (by offering rational ideas)
