A sense of belonging to a nation and a belief in its political aspirations
National Identity
Pride in one’s people and the belief that they have a unique political destiny
Nationalism
An individual’s relationship to the state, wherein cities where allegiance to that state and the state and return is obligated to provide rights to those citizens

Pride in one’s state
Patriotism
Those with a political attitude that favors dramatic, often revolutionary change
Radicals
Those who seek to restore the institutions of a real or an imagined earlier order
Reactionaries
The basic values held by an individual about the fundamental goals of politics or the ideal balance of freedom and equality
Political ideology
A political system that promotes participation, competition, and Liberty and emphasizes individual freedom and civil rights
Liberal democracy
A political - economic system in which freedom and equality are balanced through the states management of the economy and the provision of social expeditures. The state controls the means of production
Socialism
A political ideology that asserts superiority and inferiority of different groups of people and stresses in low degree of both freedom and inequality in order to achieve a powerful state
Fascism
A political ideology that stresses the elimination of the state and private property as a way to achieve both freedom and equality for all
Anarchism
The basic norms for political activity in a society ( voting? Protest?)
Political culture
A conflict whereby non-state combatants, who largely abide by the rules of war, Target the state
Guerilla War

Ideational
A belief that all institutions and values are essentially meaningless and that only the redeeming value is violence
Nihilism
Violence outside of State control that is politically motivated
Political violence
Model that predicts revolution when public expectations outpace the rate of domestic change
Relative depriviation model
Public seizure of the state in order to overturn the existing government and regime
Revolution
Terrorism that is supported directly by the state as an instrument of foreign policy
State-sponsored terrorism
A political-economic system in which all wealth and property are shared so as to eliminate exploition, oppression, and, ultimately, the need for political institutions such as the state. This has never operated on a national scale, even though some countries proclaim to follow this political-economic system ( china, for instance)
Communism
The spread of fear using violence by non-state actors against civilians to achieve a political goal
Terrorism
A geographical area that an elected official represents
Constituency
A country with institutionalized democracy and a high level of economic development
Developed democracy
A system in which two or more countries cooperate on issues
Intergovernmental system
Characterized as secular, rational, materialistic, technological, and bureaucratic, and placing a greater emphasis on individual freedom than in the past
Modern
Characterized by some qualities that center on “quality of life” considerations and give less attention to material gain
Postmodern
An intergovernmental system with its own sovereign powers over member states
Supranational system
Russian people noted for their control of large amounts of the Russian economy (including the media), their close ties to the government, and the accusations of corruption surrounding their rise of power
