Social Class
A group of people in society with a similar level of importance, wealth, or job.
Peasant
A poor farmer who worked the land.
Noble
A person from a rich and powerful family.
Knight
A warrior on horseback who fought for a king or lord.
Kingdom
A country ruled by a king or queen.
Fief
A piece of land given by a powerful person (like a king or noble) to someone in exchange for services.
Feudalism
A system where a king gave land to nobles in exchange for soldiers and loyalty and service.
Clergy
People who work for the church, like priests or bishops.
Chivalry
A list of guidelines for knights. It meant being brave, honest, and kind, especially to women.
Alliance
A friendship or agreement between groups (like countries) to work together for a shared goal.
Historical source
The primary source - the original source that holds important info about the past.
Chronological
To be in order of time - oldest to newest.
BCE
BCE stands for before the common era, and shows the number of years before the year ‘0’.
CE
CE stands for common era and shows the years after the year ‘0’.
