What does LSEQ stand for?
Launch Sequencer
What does the LSEQ do?
Provides interface between the Launch Control Unit (LCU) and the missile canisters.
Also monitors the status of the module and the cells within the module
What does MCP stand for?
Motor Control Panel
What does the MCP do?
Controls the uptake hatch, cell hatches, plenum drain valve and deluge valves
What is a Status Panel? And where are they located
Found in each launcher, in the Service Interface Rooms, the Panel provides continuous display of module status and hazard conditions within the launcher.
What does RLEP stand for?
Remote Launch Enable Panel
Where can the Remote Launch Enable Panel be located and what does it do?
Located in CIC
In remote, the RLEP allows CIC control of missile launch enable
What is the Firing Inhibit Switch?
Located at the CO’s console in CIC, provides positive single point control of the FWD and AFT launchers
What does LCS stand for?
Launch Control System
What does the Launch Control System do?
Manages and controls launch operations in the VLS.
Consists of 2 LCUs and the launcher
What does LCU stand for?
Launch Control Unit
What does the Launch Control Unit do and where are the 2 located?
LCU1 - in CSER1
LCU2 - in CSER3
Used to maintain simultaneous interfaces with WCS, UCFS, and ATWS to provide multi mode launch coordination
