in patient w/ heart disease, anemia or pulmonary disease
drug interactions
alcohol, neomycin-decreased absorption
adverse effects
facial swelling
diarrhea
itching
rash
serious adverse effects
anaphylactic shock pulmonary edema heart failure sudden death optic nerve atrophy
responsibilities
educate patients that treatment for pernicous anemia will be life long
assess for alcohol use, malabsorption syndromes
