Vital signs
Temperature of a person (normal average: 98.6) (activity; food/fluid; and time of day.
Body temperature
Measures the heart rate.
Pulse rate (heart rate)
Measures the number of breathes.
Respiration rate (breathing)
Force of blood pushing against the arterial walls when the heart beats.
Blood pressure.
Measure the amount of oxygen in the blood (fifth vital sign).
Pulse Oximerty.
Force of blood against the arterial walls when the heart contracts.
Systolic Pressure
When the body temperature is too high: Heat exhaustion (101-104) and heatstroke (above 104)
Hyperthermia
Force against the arterial walls when the heart relaxes.
Diastolic pressure
When the body temperature is too low (below 95)
Hypothermia
Blood pressure is too high
Hypertension
Blood pressure is too low
Hypotension
