What are the body temperatures for Normal, Fever & Hypothermia?
HYPOTHERMIA = <35.0 degrees c
NORMAL = 36.5-37.5 degrees c
FEVER = >37.5 or 38.3 degrees c
What is Heart Rate/Pulse?
The number of times you heart beats in one minute
What is a Normal Heart rate?
60-100 beats per minute
When is the best time to measure a resting heart rate?
Just after waking up in the morning
When is the best time to measure a resting heart rate?

Where can you check the Heart Rate?
- Insides of wrists
- Insides of elbows
- Sides of neck
- Tops of feet
What should you NOT do when assessing heart rate?
- Check when the person has done any form of exercise in the past 20 minutes
- Use thumb to measure (it has its own pulse)
What can affect heart rate?
- Weather
- Body position
- Emotions
What is Systolic and Diastolic blood pressure?
Systolic blood pressure = measures the pressure in the arteries when heart beats
Diastolic blood pressure = measures the pressure in the arteries when your heart rests between beats
What is the normal blood pressure?
120/80
SYSTOLIC (mm hg) = 115-120
DIASTOLIC (mm hg) = 75-80
What device is used to measure blood pressure?
A Sphygmomanometer
