How do you put on non-sterile gloves?
1) Check glove size
2) Remove all jewellery
3) Ensure hands are clean
4) Remove gloves from their packaging
5) Start with dominant hand
6) Put on other glove
7) Adjust gloves if necessary
What are Sterile gloves and what is their function?
Sterile gloves are a type of disposable glove that are devoid of any germs and are free from all microorganisms
FUNCTION:
- aid in prevention of wound infections
- limit danger of blood/body fluid pathogen exposure
What is the function of Sterile latex gloves?
Sterile latex gloves are used for prevention of spreading communicable diseases such as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV and AIDS
When are sterile gloves used?
- Contact with anything sterile
- Any surgical intervention
How do you remove gloves?
1) Grasp the palm of one glove near your wrist and carefully pull the glove off, turning it inside out
2) Hold the glove in the palm of the still-gloved hand and slip two fingers under the wrist of the remaining glove
