What is duction?
Movement in one eye
What is version?
Simultaneous movement of both eyes in the same direction (i.e. at the same time)
What is vergence?
Simultaneous movement of both eyes in the opposite direction
the transfer of eyes between near and distant objects.
What is convergence?
Simultaneous adduction movement of eyes
What are the two types of upward/downward movements of the eyes?
Supra/infraduction (only one eye)
Supra/infraversion (both eyes)
What do you call movement to the right and left?
Right - dextroversion
(Right eye abducts as left eye adducts)
Left - levoversion
(Left eye abducts as right eye adducts)
What do you call rotation of eye around the anterior posterior axis?
Torsion
What do you call short fast bursts of eye movement?
Saccade
What are the four types of saccade?
Reflex saccade
Scanning saccade
Predictive saccade
Memory-guided saccade
Which type of saccade is for tracking objects?
Predictive saccade (you predict the motion of an animal when you set the camera to ‘motion mode’
What do you call sustained slow eye movements?
Smooth pursuit
