Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action
Attention
Grab the target market’s attention.
Attracting the attention of a potential customer is done by using things that catch your eye: bright photos, pictures, bold words, different fonts, an interesting layout, clever language use.
Interest
Sustain the interest of the target market, so that they keep reading or viewing the advert.
Giving information evokes interest in the product or service. This is done using visual and linguistic techniques.
Desire
Create a desire in the target market to buy the product, or use the service.
The customer must want or desire the item or thing being offered. This can be done by using a celebrity in the ad or images and text that suggest that your life will be better if you have this product.
Action
And finally, make the target market take action and buy the product or service.
Many ads encourage the customer to‘Act now!’.This is part of inducing action from the customer to purchase the product or service.
