A
accelerated resolution, limit extent of infection, reduce complications

A
- 7 day course of Acyclovir, valacyclovir, or Famiciclvir
- more effective within 72 hours of onset of lesions
- corticosteroids reduce acute symptoms and accelerate the rate of cutaneous healing. avoid in immunocompromised

A
gabapentin, pregabalin, TCA’s

Herpes zoster topical postherpetic neuraliga
A
lidocain, capsaicin

CMV prevention
A
No vaccine, can use valganciclovir, ganciclovir, or brincidofovir (cidofovir prodrug, under investigation)
