Nursing management and treatment

A

Nursing management of viral exanthems focuses on fever reduction, relief of discomfort, and protection of skin

Nonpharmacologic interventions to reduce fever, such as tepid sponging and cool compresses, may be used. Refer to the Nursing Process Overview earlier in the chapter. Care should be individualized based on the child’s and family’s response to the illness.
