A medieval ship used in northern Europe especially by the Norse, having a long, narrow, open hull, a single square sail, and a large number of oars, which provided most of the propulsion.

The Viking King.

Viking unit of money.
Lögberg
A rocky outcrop in south west Iceland that was the assembly point for the Viking parliament. Speeches and announcements were made from this spot.
Asgard
The home of the gods, where people would spend the afterlife feasting and living in large halls.
runestones
A type of Viking writing often carved into stones (big and small) or pieces of bone.
Vikings
Any of the Scandinavian seafaring farmers, pirates and traders who raided and settled in many parts of North West Europe in the 8th–11th centuries.
Thrall
Slaves (prisoners of war); criminals; the poorest of the poor.
Jarl
Powerful noblemen (the heads of influential families, often interlinked through marriage)
Chain Mail
Flexible armour consisting of small metal rings linked together.
Althing
Viking parliament.
Scandinavia
Area of land that encompasses parts of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and sometimes Finland, Iceland, and the Faeroe Islands.
Mythology
A collection of myths/stories, especially one belonging to a particular religious or cultural tradition.
