What is the locked phase used for?
To assess periodicty
What occurs during locked phase?
Light flashes, camera takes a picture @ the same point in every vibratory cycle.
Periodic vs. aperiodic?
Periodic= VF’s will appear to stand still
Aperiodic= VF’s will appear to move
What phase is it where each flash of light illuminates a different part of each successive vibratory cycle & software combines portions of each cycle into 1 picture?
Normal Phase
What determines where in the cycle to flash the light?
The patient’s fundamental frequency
What is included in a videostroboscopy?
Rigid oral endoscope/transnasal flexible scope, camera, monitor, light source, halogen & xenon & laryngeal microphone
