1
Q

the ratio of image width to image height. It can be expressed as two whole numbers separated by a colon, e.g. 16:9, or by the decimal equivalent of the implied division, e.g. 1.77.

A

Aspect Ratio.
examples of common aspect ratios:
4:3 (1.33) for Standard-Definition (SD)
16:9 (1.77) for High-Definition (HD) video

Q

What is the the formula for finding aspect ratio?

A

AR = W / H
Where:
AR is the aspect ratio
W is the width of the displayed image
H is the height of the displayed image
Note that W and H are measured in inches or millimeters.

Q

216.5 inches (5499 mm) high. A projected image with a 1.78:1 aspect ratio covers the entire width of the screen. What is the image’s height? Round to the nearest millimeter or inch.

A

122 inches since its rounded to the nearest inch

Q

A company requires a 1.33:1 screen to be installed in a room. The existing projector in the room is configured to project an image that is 44.3 inches (1125 mm) high and 59 inches (1499 mm) wide. What is the aspect ratio of the projected image?

A

The aspect ratio is 1.33:1 (4:3)

devide the width by the height

Q

What is the formula for the Screen Diagonal Formula AKA the Pythagorean Theorem
(The diagonal of a screen can be calculated using the Pythagorean Theorem)

A
A2+ B2 = C2
Where:
A is the height of a screen
B is the width of a screen
C is the diagonal length of a screen
(note: if u have A and B and add them up u will need to square c to figure it out.)

Q

A mounted 1.78:1 display in a room has a diagonal measurement of 42 inches (1067 mm) and a height of 20.6 inches (523 mm). What is the width of the display?

A

36.7
hint(ignore the diagonal it will mess with you fraction.. instead focus on the aspect ratio… so 1.78 * 20.6 to get the width)
