A victim or member of the Victims family who has welfare, health, counselling, medical or legal needs arising from the offence should have access to services that are responsive to those needs.

Section 17AB - what is the purpose of Victim Impact statement
The purpose of the Victim Impact Statement is to
A. Enable the Victim to provide information to the court about the effects of offending and
B. Assist thr court in understanding thr victims views about the offending and
C. Inform the offender about the Impact of offending from the victims perspective.
Section 29 covers what?
A specified offence -
A. Offence of sexual nature
B. Offence of serious assault
C. Offence that resulted in serious injury, death or person becoming incapable.
D. Offence of another kind which led victim to hve ongoing fears on reasonable grounds for his/her safety or physical safety/security of 1 or more family members.
Section 29A. Commissioner of Police responsibility
As soon as practicals after a victim comes into contact with NZ Police, the Commissioner of Police must determine whether the offence that affected the Victim is a specified offence.
Section 30 victim rights act 2002
Police must obtain victims views about the release on Bail of accused or offender.
