What is Class B weather minimums? And why?
3 miles visibility, clear of clouds.
Because in Class B there are so many aircraft that it is highly controlled by radar and the airports tower that they will keep you away from other aircraft.
What are the Class A weather minimums?
Class A is IFR only.
What are the weather minimums for Class C and D airspace?
3 miles visibility, 500’ below, 1000’ above, 2000’ horizontal
What are the Class E airspace weather minimums below 10,000’ MSL?
3 miles visibility, 500’ below, 1000’ above, 2000’ horizontal
What are the Class E airspace weather minimums at or above 10,000’ MSL? And why?
5 miles visibility, 1000’ above and below, 1 statute mile horizontal.
Because of the high airspeeds at which aircraft travel at those flight levels, you will need more space to allow for deconfliction.
What are the Class G weather minimums at 1200’ AGL and below regardless of MSL?
Day - 1/2 mile visibility, clear of clouds.
Night - 1 mile visibility, clear of clouds.
What are the Class G airspace weather minimums above 1200’ AGL but below 10’000 MSL?
Day - 1 mile visibility, 500’ above, 1000’ above, 2000’ horizontal
Night - 3 miles visibility, 500’ above, 1000’ above, 2000’ horizontal
What are the Class G weather minimums above 1200’ AGL and 10,000’ MSL?
Day and night - 5 miles visibility, 1000’ above and below, 1 statute mile horizontal
