- POM-V: prescribed by vet and supplied by vet or pharmacist
- nFA-VPS: category of medicines for non-food producing animals eg dogs. supplied by vet/ pharmacist or suitably qualified person
AVM-GSL: authorised vet medicine that is GSL. anyone can supply

- a vet medicine which is licensed for another species or condition
- a uk licensed human medicine or eu licensed vet medicine
- specially manufactured or extemporaneous medicine [unlicensed]
