Vessels (1.8) Flashcards
Where does the left gastric run?
The left gastric runs along the lesser curvature of the stomach
What does the left gastric anastomose with?
The left gastric and right gastric anastomose
What are the three branches of the celiac trunk?
Common Hepatic
Splenic
Left Gastric
What are the two major branches of the Common Hepatic?
Hepatic Proper
Gastroduodenal
What does the gastroduodenal supply?
Greater curvature of the stomach (Right gastroomental)
The duodenum
What are the three branches of the Hepatic Proper?
Right gastric
Right and Left Hepatic…enter liver at the porta hepatis
The Cystic artery branches off of which Hepatic artery?
The Right Hepatic
Besides the Gastroduodenal, what other artery supplies the duodenum? What is the significance of this?
The Superior Mesenteric Artery also supplies the duodenum
The SMA and Gastroduodenal anastomose…a connection between the celiac and SMA
The Splenic Artery has branches to the pancreas, what other artery supplies the pancreas?
SMA
Besides branching into Pancreatic Arteries, what are two other branch types off the Splenic Artery?
Left Gastroomental (supplies the greater curvature of the stomach…anastomoses with the Right Gastroomental in the greater omentum)
Short Gastric (supply the gastric fundus)
The SMA has many major branches…what are they?
Jejunal and Ileal Appendicular Ileocolic Right Colic Middle Colic
Which side of the SMA do the Jejunal and Ileal arteries branch?
Left side
What are the differences between the Jejunal and Ileal networks?
The Jejunal has longer vasa recta and bigger windows in the mesentery
Which artery supplies the proximal 2/3 of the transverse mesocolon?
The Middle Colic Artery
What are some features of the jejunum not shared with the ileum?
Prominent folds (plicae circulares) Adjacent mesentery doesn't have fat
