What is a verb?
A verb is a word or group of words that tells you what a person or thing is being or doing
What are the three types of verbs?
Finite
Non-Finite
Auxillary
What are the two types of Non-Finite verbs?
Infinitives
Participles
What is a finite verb?
A verb which is complete by itself and has a subject. It is often limited to tense and number
What is an Auxiliary verb?
An auxiliary verbs are helping verbs. They help the non-finite verbs become finite. Some are: is, was, am, shall, can
Out of the non-finite verbs, what are Infinitives?
They are the base form of the verb. Uses with to. Eg. to see, to run, to be seen
Out of the non-finite verbs, what are participles?
These are parts of verbs. They participate in forming the verb (or adjective). They usually follow the auxiliary verb. There are two kinds: present and past participles.
