Where is venue proper in an action against a FL resident?
(1) county where D resides at the time the action is commenced (where the bad guy lives);
(2) county were the cause of action accrued (where the bad thing happened); or
(3) county where the property is located (if it’s a property dispute)

(1) county where service is made;
(2) county where the cause of action accrued;
(3) county where the property is located (if it’s a property dispute)
Where is venue proper against domestic and foreign corporations?
Domestic: Any county where the corporation has an office or conducts business
Foreign: Any county where the corporation has an agent or representative
How does someone consent to a certain venue?
By agreement or if it’s waived by a contract
What are the grounds for transfer of venue when venue is originally proper?
(1) can’t receive a fair trial in the original venue;
(2) convenience of parties or witnesses; or
(3) interests of justice
What is a venue objection based on forum non conveniens?
A D can move to dismiss an action based on forum non conveniens. Basically saying that the original court has the power to hear the case, but there’s a better venue in a different state
