A
Chest discomfort
Light headedness/dizziness
Palpitations
SOB
Absent or rapid pulse

A

Assess pt
Pulse present = give oxygen, patent IV, monitor pt
Pulse less = code, begin CPR, defib

What is the medical treatment for VT?

A

No pulse = CPR
Unstable pt = cardiovert and begin drug therapy (amiodarone and lidocaine)
Chronic/recurrent VT = antiarrhythics, ablation
