Velocity and Acceleration Flashcards
1
Q
How do you calculate how fast something moves?
A
By timing it (which speed is used for)
2
Q
What’s the measurement that’s used for speed in science called?
A
Velocity: includes the directions that an object is traveling
3
Q
What is acceleration?
A
Acceleration is when an object changes it’s velocity
(includes the change of speed, or the change of directions)
4
Q
How do Newton’s 1st and 2nd law work together?
A
- Objects like to do what they do, it takes force to change that (1st law)
Therefore
- The bigger an object is/the greater acceleration that’s needed, means there’s more force needed (2nd law)
