Forest
Climate: warm & humid all year, high rain fall, frost free
Plants: moss, ferns, evergreen trees
Where: mainly along East coast (kzn & EC)

Fynbos
Climate: hot dry summer, cold wet winter
Plants: proteas, daisies, shrubs with small hard leaves & tough stems to withstand the hot dry summers
Where: southern part of the western cape

Climate: frost in winter, summer thunder storms
Plants: Woody trees, short grass, small flowering plants, umbrella trees
Where: On the escapement, in the very eastern part of the plateau and the high mountains

Climate: very little summer rain, very hot summer, very cold winter with frost
