Addition and Subtraction of Vectors
1
Q
How do you use vector analysis to resolve a vector into two perpendicular components
A
- If you’re given the ‘c’ side (hypotenuse), you can resolve the vector into two components using the formula (Fsinangle) or (Fcosangle)
- If you are not given the ‘c’ side (hypotenuse then you have to use pythagoreas theorem
Simple vector analysis
2
Q
How do you solve vector problems by resolving individual vectors to find a resultant vector
A
- Solve the components of the vectors given first
- Then proceed to find the net resultant vector by using the pythagores thereom equation
3
Q
Equation for Resultant Vector
A
Fnet = square root of first found combined force + second combined force
