Q

Laser SLA Process?

A

Laser scans liquid and causes the liquid to polymerise. The platform then moves down one layer, is recoated, and scanned again

Q

Projection based SLA Process?

A

Image projected using DLP/LCD from below and polymerises the given layer, the part then moves on layer up and repeated. Bottom up & top down

Q

Post processing?

A
  • Support removal
  • Cleaning uncured resin with TPM or alcohol
  • Must be post cured to ensure complete polymerisation

Q

Strengths

A
	Very Accurate 50-100µm
	Very good surface finish
	Mechanically & chemically smoothed, Painted, Coated
	Large build volumes possible
	Easy to remove support before curing
	Mats mimic engineering polymers
	Energy input is low

Q

Limitations

A
	Curling
	Mat must be photo-curable
	Mat are hygroscopic
	Sunlight affecting appearance, mechanical prop
	Mat change = thorough cleaning
	Orientation affects finish
	Need to remove supports and post cure
	Trapped volumes
