Familial chylomicronemia (type I)
A
- LPL or apoCII deficiency
- CM and, later, VLDL increase
- High serum TG w/ turbid supranate and clear infranate
- Acute pancreatitis

Q
Type II hyperlipidemia
A
- Increased serum CH and LDL
* Hypothyroidism, blocked bile flow, nephrotic syndrome, genetic (familial hypercholesterolemia)

Q
Familial dysbetalipoproteinemia (type III)
A
- ApoE deficiency; decreased IDL and CM remnant uptake
- Increased serum CH and TG, normal-high LDL
- Palmar xanthomas

A
- Increased VLDL
- EtOH, OCP, DM, renal failure, diuretic use, genetic (familial hypertriglyceridemia)
- Increased TG, normal-high CH and LDL, decreased HDL

A
- Genetic
- Decreased LPL —> increased CMs and VLDL
- Increased TG, normal CH and LDL
- Eruptive xanthomas, acute pancreatitis, lipemia retinalis, dyspnea, hypoxemia, hepatosplenomegaly
