Qian hu
LU qi down, cough, releases exterior (combine with these formulas)
Chuan bei mu
moistens LU, nodules/clumps with heat signs, nurishing fluids
Zhe bei mu
draining, nodules (neck/breast) w heat
Gua lou
moistens intestines, can be single, breast nodules/abcesses
Zhu ru
bamboo shavings- Heart, spirit (insomnia) cools ST LU GB, nausea, phlegm heat, cooling (wen dan tang), clears heat from ST
Zhu li
bamboo sap, plegm post stroke
Pang da hai
singers herb/loss voice, moistens bowels/throat (seed)
Kun bu
kelp- neck nodules/goiters, thyroid tumors, edema

stone itself, stubborn/old plegm, painful urinary (tiayin LU UB), upper (LU) water,
Hai Ge Ke
clam/conch shell- softens masses, reduce stomach acid/acid reflux
Dan Nan Xing
pig bile (cold) processed- makes heat clearing (detoxifies), heat phlegm, convulsions and spasums
Gua Lou Pi
pi=peel=skin and qi regulator (chest), pain/destention chest (peels regulate qi)
Gua Lou Ren
seed=moistens bowels, LU puss, sores
Zhi ban xia
1 reslove cold phlegm, toxic (ginger used), resolves dampness=nausea
Bai jie zi
dissipates nodules, warms LU, chronic-cold phlegm
Zhi tian nan xing
toxic (ginger used), relieves convulstions (internal wind LV), tian-heaven so spirit, damp/phlegm, stubborn (old cold) phlegm
Zhi bai fu zi
toxic (ginger/alum), snake bite, post wind-stroke (facial paralysis), migraine (raising to head)
Jie geng
2 resolve phlegm, guides to chest, hot/cold phlegm, voice/throat/cough, discharge pus, release exterior (surface resolving)
Xuan Fu Hua
regellious qi downward= vomiting (morning sickness)
Qian hu
directs qi downward; assists the dissemination of Lung qi, thereby expelling external pathogens; directs fire downward, thereby dissolving phlegm
Chuan bei mu
cools, moistens, directs the Lung qi and Heart fire downward to transform phlegm, alleviate cough, relieve constraint, and disperse clumped phlegm- heat
Zhe bei mu
cold, drains heat, transforms phlegm-heat, releases constraint, dissipates nodules, especially in the neck and breast
Gua lou
cools and transforms phlegm-heat, moistens the Intestines, directs turbid phlegm downward
Zhu ru
cools the Lungs, Stomach, and Gallbladder, scours phlegm, releases constraint, alleviates nausea
Zhu li
cold, slippery; ideal for transforming hot, thick phlegm and opening the orifices
Pang da hai
gently cools and moistens the throat and Intestines
Kun bu
reduces phlegm and softens areas of hardness, promotes urination, eliminates edema
Hai zao
softens areas of hardness, clears damp-heat, reduces edema damp-heat, reduces edema
Tian hua fen
use with caution in those with cold from deficiency of the Spleen and Stomach. Traditionally, it is not to be used with herbs of the genus Aconitum

penetrates to the yin to restore movement to the yang, transforms cold-phlegm, dissipates clumps

very acrid, dispersing, warm, and drying; eliminates wind-phlegm in the channels and collateral; toxic in its raw (unprepared) form
Zhi bai fu zi
raising, acrid-dispersing, warm and drying; especially indicated for pathogenic wind-phlegm in the face and head

causes the qi and the actions of other herbs to rise, soothes the throat, releases the exterior, transforms phlegm, expels pus
