Jin yin hua

A

Sweet Cold
LI, Lung, Stomach
Clears heat and relieves fire toxicity
Expels external wind-heat - releases the exterior- fever, chills, sore throat
Clears damp-heat form the lower jiao
Part of an herbal pair with Lian Qiao (the root)
use smaller dose for w-h/larger dose for toxic heat
Cautions/CI: In cases of diarrhea due to spleen deficiency and stomach yang deficiency

A

ACRID - NEUTRAL LUNG
-clears toxic lung fire - painful-swollen throat, loss of voice, cough
-applied topically to stop bleeding - oral cavity and lips, nosebleeds
Preparations:
-for continuous nosebleeds or spitting up blood during pregnancy, take 1.5g
of this herb in powder form internally and wash down with rice congee
- for sore throat: knead with honey, mix with water and sip
*smokebombs/tear gas
*mushroom/spore
