Q

A burger joint in town has made a new sauce that they believe decreases body odour. They split 100 people into 2 groups, 50 in ‘A’ and 50 in ‘B’. They give burgers with the new sauce to group A and a fake sauce that looks the same to group B. What is the Independent variable, (IV) the dependant variable (DV) and the control variable/group (CG)

A

IV= New Sauce
DV=Amount of BO
CG= Group B

Q

Arnie is giving body building another shot. He is told a new muscle cream can double muscle power when used with a workout. He buys the cream and hires Anne Hathaway and Kevin Bacon to help him with an experiment. He puts Anne and Kevin on a special weight lifting program and meets them once every day for 2 weeks and keeps track of the results. Before each session, Kevin’s arms are covered in the cream, whilst Anne’s arms are cover in sun screen
What is the CV, the IV and the DV?

Q

What is a ‘Controlled Variable?’

A

Q

What is a dependant Variable?
