What is a variable?
An element, feature, or, factor that is liable to vary, adapt, or, change.
What is an independent variable?
The cause of a dependant variable. The “if” in the sentence “If [I do this], then [this] will happen.” The variable that is being changed throughout an experiment.
What is a dependent variable?
The effect of an independent variable. The “this” in the sentence “If [I do this], then [this] will happen.” The variable that is being measured during an experiment.
What is a controlled variable?
A variable that is kept the same during an experiment.
What is an example of an independent variable in the setting of the growth of a plant?
The liquid used or how much used.
What is an example of an dependent variable in the setting of the growth of a plant?
The height of the plant.
What is an example of an controlled variable in the setting of the growth of a plant?
The material the plants grows in.
What does quantitative mean?
Measuring by the quantity of something instead of quality. Used numerically.
What does qualitative mean?
Measuring by the quality or qualities of something instead of quantity.
What is an example of both a qualitative and quantitative variable? (Of a plant).
An example for a qualitative variable is the colour of a plant. An example of a quantitative variable is the height of a plant.
