Q

What is the etiology of pulmonary stenosis?

A

Generally congenital. Can be caused by carcinoid heart disease

17
Q

What would you hear with pulmonary stenosis?

A

Systolic opening ejection click followed by systolic ejection murmur that radiates to base

18
Q

Treatment for symptomatic pulmonary stenosis?

A

Commissurotomy

19
Q

Treatment for pulmonary regurgitation?

A

Treat underlying heart disease

20
Q

What causes pulmonary regurgitation?

A

Congenital heart disease (ASD), pulmonary hypertension, infective endocarditit

21
Q

What are signs of pulmonary regurg?

A

CXR- prominent right heart border dilation of SVC, JVD and peripheral edema

22
Q

Tricuspic stenosis causes what?

A

Inadequate filling of RV during diastole

23
Q

Symptoms of Tricuspid stenosis?

A

Systemic venous congestion, fatigue, atrial arrhythmias, abdominal discomfort, liver dysfunction (hepatomegaly), peripheral edema

24
Q

Etiology of tricuspid stenosis?

A

Rheumatic disease, carcinoid heart disease, congenital, IV drug users

25
Q

How do you treat tricupid stenosis?

A

Med management of HR, valvotomy or ballon valvuloplasty

26
Q

What kind of murmur would you hear with tricuspid regurg?

A

Holostolic murmur on left sternal border

27
Q

Etiology of tricuspid regurg?

A

Pulmonary hypertension, rheumatic disease, congenital, endocarditis from drug use

28
Q

Symptoms of tricuspid regurg?

A

Edema, atrial arrhythmia, fever/ fatigue in endocarditis, liver dysfunction, abdominal discomfort
