Test-retest:
- intra-rater reliability
- inter-rater reliability
Construct validity
Measures the ability the of operationalisation of a concept to measure a concept
Criterion validity
Measures how well one measure predicts an outcome for another measure
Face validity
(logical validity)
refers to whether the test or study measures what it is supposed to measure
e.g. stop watch, tape measure, goniometer
Content validity
Refers to the degree to which an assessment instrument is relevant to, and representative of, the targeted construct it is designed to measure (theoretical basis for test)
e.g. questionnaires, exams, ROM, ratings
Concurrent validity
Establish the operationalisations ability to distinguish who has high or low levels of the construct being measure. Difference between 2 groups.
Predictive validity
Establishes the operationalisations ability to predict something it should be able to predict
Convergent validity
Establishes how the operationalisation of a construct converges with other methods of operationalising the construct
Discriminant validity
Establishes operationalisation differences
Intra-rater (observer) reliability
raters skill is relevant to accuracy of test
Inter-rater (observer) reliability
Two or more raters independently test same participants
Test-retest reliability
administer test twice to same participants (correlation co-efficient)
