Anyone seeing a child in their first 6 months without a booster in previous 10 years
Can pregnant women have varicella vaccine?
NO
It is a live vaccine,not for pregnant ladies, and do not get up the duff with 28 days of having it
Can pregnant ladies get the rubella vaccine?
NOPE
Live attenuated. What 28 days after having to get pregnant
When can flu vaccine be given in pregnancy
Whenever you want
When should pertussis vaccine booster be given in pregnancy?
Ideally20-32 weeks
Only funded for mum not partner
Pre-pregnancy what immunisations should you recommend?
Hep B

Which vaccines are NOT recommended in pregnancy?
Live or live-attenuated vaccines
- BCG
- oral typhoid
- MMR
- rotavirus (safe for babies to have if Mum is pregnant - avoid kissing, wash hands)
- varicella
- zostervax
HPV
Yellow fever
Are any vaccines unsafe for breastfeeding mums?
No, generally all ok however yellow fever should only be given if absolutely needed as some cases of infections in babies reported (rare)
Who should be offered the BCG vaccine?
ATSI neonates in NT, QLD and northern SA with high TB incidence
Single dose
who should be offered Hep A vaccine?
ATSI kids in NT, QLD and northern SA
2 doses before age 5 (first in 2nd year of life)
When is the 13vPCV (pneumococcal conjugate) vaccine given?
6 wks
4 months
