Dtap vaccine is against what?

A. Whooping cough, tetanus, diphtheria

B. Pertussis, tetanus, measles

C. Rubella, tetanus diphtheria

D. Whooping cough, rubella, diphtheria

A

Answer: a

Diphtheria and pertussis are spread from person to person. Tetanus enters the body through cuts or wounds.

Diphtheria causes a thick covering in the back of the throat. It can lead to breathing problems, paralysis, heart failure, and even death.

Tetanus (lockjaw) causes painful tightening of the muscles, usually all over the body. It can lead to “locking” of the jaw so the victim cannot open his mouth or swallow. Tetanus leads to death in up to 2 out of 10 cases.

Pertussis (whooping cough) causes coughing spells so bad that it is hard for infants to eat, drink, or breathe. These spells can last for weeks. It can lead to pneumonia, seizures (jerking and staring spells), brain damage, and death.

Neonate take immunoglobulin from his mother this is

A. Active artificial immunity

B. Passive artificial immunity

C. Active neutral immunity

D. Passive neutral immunity

A

Answer: D

Naturally acquired passive immunity can be provided during pregnancy, and through breast-feeding

Naturally acquired active immunity occurs when the person is exposed to a live pathogen, develops the disease, and becomes immune as a result of the primary immune response.

Artificially acquired active immunity can be induced by a vaccine, a substance that contains the antigen.

Artificially acquired passive immunity is a short-term immunization by the injection of antibodies, such as gamma globulin, that are not produced by the recipient’s cells.

A

Answer:B

Explanation: mild local and systemic reactions are the most common adverse reaction for the vaccine and it includes low grade fever and mild redness and tenderness at the site of injection , both of them are correct but the redness is the minimal effect

All children should receive a series of DTaP at ages 2, 4, and 6 months, with boosters at ages 15-18 months and at 4-6 years. The fourth dose may be given as early as age 12 months if at least 6 months have elapsed since the third dose.
