V Speeds Flashcards
Vr relationship to Vmca
Must be no less than 1.05 times Vmca to ensure directional control
V2 relationship to Vmca and Vs
1.1 times Vmca and no less than 1.2 times Vs
Vef relationship to V1
Engine Failure is considered to have happened 1sec prior to V1
ASDR
Find by adding distance to engine failure and Distance to stop
Balanced Field Length
Point on graph of Distance vs Speed, where ASDR and TODR intercept and are equal. It is a given speed for a weight and atmospheric conditions
1st segment for Take Off
From 35ft to when gear is up.. Power and Flap at T/O and gear is RETRACTING
2nd segment
Take off thrust and flaps still set to height of at least 400ft and at V2. 2.4% gradient gross and 1.6% net
Third segment
Two parts, part 1, from 400ft to when flaps are retracted, speed from V2 to Vfl, Part 2 While flips are retracting from Vfl to Vcl.
4th Segment
From end of 3rd segment to gross height of at least 1500’ with flaps up and continuous thrust set
