16
Q

inferior alveolar A

A

thru mandibular foramen to mandibular teeth
-branches off to mental A thru mental foramen

17
Q

posterior superior alveolar A

A

-thru maxilla bone into maxillary air sinus for posterior maxillary teeth

18
Q

infraorbital A

A

into inferior orbital fissure then run in floor of orbit
-out infraorbital foramen

19
Q

middle meningeal A

A

into foramen spinosum
-looped by auriculotemporal N
-deep to pterion

supply dura mater

20
Q

sphenopalatine A

A

into sphenopalatine foramen to supply nasal cavities

21
Q

descending palatine A

A

descends into pterygomaxillary fissure to supply palate

22
Q

pterygoid venous plexus anastomoses with

A

cavernous sinus + maxillary vein with emissary veins (directly connect veins of cranial vault with scalp/face)

no valves!!

23
Q

nerve to mylohyoid

A

supplies mylohyoid and ant belly digastric

from V3

24
Q

mandibular V3 supplies

A

MAST = 4 mastication muscles
MATT = mylohyoid, ant digastric, 2 tensors (tympani, veli palatini)

25
Q

sensory branches of V3

A
  1. meningeal branch to dura mater
  2. buccal N/long buccal to cheek
  3. lingual N to anterior 2/3 tongue, carries chorda tympani
26
Q

chorda tympani

A

from VII for SVA taste to anterior 2/3 tongue + GVE parasymps to submandibular and sublingual G
-runs deep to tympani membrane over malleus

27
Q

inferior alveolar N

A

enters mandibular foramen to supply mandibular teeth and emerge thru mental foramen as mental N
-gives off nerve to mylohyoid before entering mandible

28
Q

auriculotemporal N

A

cutaneous to auricle, EAM, tympanic membrane, parotid gland, TMJ, scalp ant ear
-carries IX parasymp fibers from otic ganglion to parotid gland
