Explain defragmentation software
Files are stored on the hard disk in blocks as different sizes are deleted and added files can become fragmented into several blocks, making them slower to retrieve. Defragmentation software fixes this by reorganising them.
What is Encryption software?
This is where plaintext is turned into ciphertext to make it harder to intercept when it reaches the desired location the recipient has a key to unscramble it.
What is Data compression software?
This is where an algorithm is used to make a file smaller than it was originally using lossy or lossless compression
Why do files become fragmentated?
